The Friends group has had a major impact in the enhancement and awareness of all that Hamlin Beach has to offer to the community.
There are many diverse opportunities for individuals of all ages to get involved and make a difference in the park they love.
Do you enjoy the outdoors? Volunteer with the Friends to garden, to do trail maintenance, or monitor bird populations.
Do you enjoy history? Volunteer to educate the community about the history of the Civilian Conservation Corps’ (CCC) role in developing the park. The site of the CCC camp, which also was used as a POW camp, is located within our park on Moscow Road and is a true treasure in our community.
Do you enjoy environmental education? Support the environmental educators with the programs throughout the park. Help with our recycling program and the removal of invasive species.
Do you like to craft? Join the Friends to make free grab and go kits for visiting children, paint rocks, and make birdfeeders.
Do you enjoy walking along the beachfront and on the many trails? Volunteer to help keep your park clean by participating in beach clean-up days or help maintain our trails.
We have a place for you whether you like quiet sit-down activities or more rigorous construction and active walking projects. We also welcome new ideas to add to our programs.
